Sara Konrath, PhD, is Assistant Professor at Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Indiana University. Dr. Konrath is the director of the Interdisciplinary Program on Empathy and
Altruism Research (iPEAR), a research lab with a primary focus on
motivations, traits, and behaviors relevant to philanthropic giving,
volunteering, and other prosocial behaviors.
Dr. Konrath was trained as a social psychologist and is experienced in conducting psychological experiments using a number of standardized research instruments. Her expertise is in the area of empathy, emotional intelligence, and cognitive style, with a current focus on how these traits affect people’s psychological and physical health.
