Sara H. Konrath, PhD



Sara Konrath, PhD, is Assistant Professor at Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Indiana University.  Dr. Konrath is the director of the Interdisciplinary Program on Empathy and Altruism Research (iPEAR), a research lab with a primary focus on motivations, traits, and behaviors relevant to philanthropic giving, volunteering, and other prosocial behaviors.

Dr. Konrath was trained as a social psychologist and is experienced in conducting psychological experiments using a number of standardized research instruments. Her expertise is in the area of empathy, emotional intelligence, and cognitive style, with a current focus on how these traits affect people’s psychological and physical health.
