Development of an Interactive Website to Provide Tailored Risk Communication and Education to Women at High Risk of Breast Cancer

This talk will describe the development of a web-based decision aid designed for women considering genetic testing for breast cancer. Given the limited access to cancer genetic counseling services nationwide, this tool is designed to expand the reach of quality health education and risk communication in this area.

J. Scott Roberts, PhD

Scott Roberts is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Behavior & Health Education at the University of Michigan's School of Public Health. He is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialty training in geropsychology. His interests include the process and impact of genetic risk assessment for adult-onset disorders; the development and evaluation of education and support programs to improve adjustment to illness; mental health and aging; and public health ethics.
