Pilot Results of CSATS: Cancer Screening Adherence through Technology-Enhanced Shared Decision Making - "If You Build It, Will They Come?"

by Plone Admin last modified 2009-06-09 09:49

This talk will review the results of a feasibility study to enable patients and physicians to engage in effective shared decision making through a process that links tailored behavioral intervention to physician recommendation. CSATS links an interactive Internet-based decision aid on colorectal cancer (CRC) screening to a clinician reminder system. This enables the patients and physicians to be better informed about the patient risks and preferences regarding CRC screening at the time of the visit. We hypothesize that this leads to better
decision-making and ultimately increased CRC screening adherence.
