Vax Facts HPV: An intervention to improve adolescent human papillomavirus vaccination

This talk will describe the "Vax Facts HPV" project which is a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of providing written tailored educational materials to mothers hesitant to have their daughters vaccinated against HPV on maternal attitudes and adolescent vaccine uptake. Development of the intervention, pilot testing and preliminary results will be discussed.

Amanda F. Dempsey, MD, PhD, MPH

Amanda Dempsey, MD, PhD, MPH, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, University of Colorado Denver Children's Outcomes Research Program and a primary care pediatrician, Children's Hospital Colorado. Dr. Dempsey's research focuses on immunization delivery. Specifically, she is involved in a number of intervention trials aimed at improving utilization of recommended vaccines among children and adolescents. She also has several projects that use theoretical modeling to simulate the impact of various immunization policies on vaccine utilization and cost effectiveness.
