Project Overview +

This project is focused on creating a booklet to help men better understand prostate health and the issues surrounding prostate cancer testing.

Aims +

  1. Teach men where the prostate is located, what it does and why it's important to have a healthy prostate.
  2. Teach men what types of tests are available to monitor prostate health and inform them of the benefits and risks associated with these tests.
  3. Help men develop a dialog with their doctor focusing on prostate health.
  4. Help men decide whether or not prostate testing is right for them.

Intervention +

This project used the Health Media Research Laboratory's Design Team to create the booklet used by the Michigan Department of Community Health. Content for the booklet was provided by Dr. Burack and his team from Wayne State University.

Findings +

This was not a study - the booklet was designed by CHCR's design team for dissemination by the Michigan Department of Community Health.
