CHCR launches interactive decision aid for colorectal cancer screening

In collaboration with Masahito Jimbo, MD, PhD, MPH and his research team, the CHCR recently launched the Decision Aid to Technologically Enhance Shared Decision Making (DATES). DATES is an interactive decision aid website for colorectal cancer screening and is designed to be used prior to a clinic visit to clarify a patients' preferences and promote shared decision-making between the patient and their physician. The website, which uses a unique interactive preference elicitation tool and standardized risk assessment for colorectal cancer, helps patients determine the colorectal cancer screening test option that best matches their preferences and risk level. DATES is currently being implemented in ten southeast Michigan community practices.
